Solid & Hollowcore Planks
In addition to our range of pre stressed beams we are able to offer both Solid and Hollowcore Wideslab planks.
Solid and Hollowcore planks are ideal for offices, shops, light industrial and high quality residential properties where spans are often greater with increased loadings.
With the increased emphasis on sound separation between dwellings, particularly blocks of flats, as defined in Part E of the Building Regulations our 150mm thick solid planks or 215mm hollowcore planks are a perfect solution to the problem.
Solid and Hollowcore planks also offer increased fire protection as the increased mass acts dramatically to slow the spread of fire.
We are able to offer reduced width planks to ensure a ‘made to measure’ fit for you project. We can also form holes for services and soil pipes during manufacture at no extra cost.
Our 150mm deep solid planks are ‘wet cast’ which gives a smooth finish to the underside of the planks meaning that in certain applications the soffit can be painted and left exposed.
Our 215mm deep hollowcore planks are ‘extruded’ and whilst this does not offer a completely smooth underside the finish is still excellent by industry standards.
Screeds and ceiling finishes can be applied direct or as part of a system to comply with the Building Regulations or Robust Details.
Floorspan Contracts are happy to visit your site to conduct a full site survey, measure the building to ensure that all planks fit correctly and offer any advice on the installation process. We are also happy to hire out the necessary ‘lifting clutches’ that will enable you lift the planks safely and quickly into position if you propose to install the floor yourself.
