Floorspans office team takes on beam and block installation
At Floorspan Contracts, we believe that real-world experience is invaluable. That’s why we took 11 members of our estimating and projects team out of the office and onto a live site—giving them a hands-on introduction to beam and block flooring installation.
Why Take the team on-site?
Our office team is highly trained in the theory behind beam and block flooring, but we wanted to take it a step further. By physically installing the floors themselves, they gained first-hand insight into the challenges and precision involved. This deeper understanding will help them communicate more effectively with customers and installers.
Getting Hands-On with the Installation
From setting beams to laying blocks and applying mortar, the team worked side by side with our experienced installers. They quickly realised the physical demands of the job—lifting heavy blocks, positioning materials accurately, and maintaining safety at all times.

Lynden, our head of commercial, played a crucial role in guiding the group, ensuring proper lifting techniques, site safety, and best practices were followed. Safety is always our top priority, and understanding how to work efficiently while protecting yourself and your team is a key takeaway from the day.
