Transport Details: Hollowcore planks are delivered on flat-bed rigid or articulated lorries.
Main Contractor Responsibility: The off-loading process is the responsibility of the Main Contractor.
Off-Loading Tips for Hollowcore Plank Delivery
Always use chains to “choke” the planks, wrapping the chains securely at both ends.
- Important: Lifting planks from the centre can cause them to flex, leading to cracks or breakages.
If no crane is available, you may use a forklift with caution:
- For planks with an overhang exceeding 1m, chain the ends as if using a crane.
- Elevate the forklift’s forks above the plank’s height to avoid stress or damage.

Storage requirements
1. Prepare the site with:
- Hard roads and standing areas suitable for handling materials.
- Levelled stacking areas to support stable storage.
2. Follow these stacking guidelines:
- Place wood bearers 500-700mm from each end of the planks.
- Stack limits:
- 8 planks per stack for 150mm thick planks.
- 6 planks per stack for 215mm thick planks.
