Recycling Concrete into Sustainable Interlocking Concrete Blocks at Floorspan
At Floorspan Contracts, we believe in building responsibly. That means making the most of every material — including concrete. In our latest video, we show how our team reuses leftover concrete to produce durable, eco-friendly interlocking concrete blocks, also known as LocBlox.
Reusing Every Drop
Concrete waste is inevitable in precast manufacturing, but that doesn’t mean it has to end up in landfill. Our process ensures that leftover concreteand wash-off are captured and reused.
Rinsing Responsibility
Every rinse, every clean-down — it all gets directed into our Eco Frog system, a cutting-edge concrete reclamation unit designed to separate and recover materials.
Reclaiming Materials
This system splits the slurry into two main components:
Recovered Aggregates:Clean, reusable aggregates are separated and removed via a conveyor belt.
Recycled Grey Water:The cement, water, and fine particles are processed and stored for reuse.
Repurposing into Locblox
The reclaimed materials are then used to manufacture our LocBlox interlocking concrete blocks — strong, versatile units ideal for retaining walls, barriers, and temporary works.
These blocks are a perfect example of concrete recycling in action — a smarter, greener way to produce essential construction components.
Why it matters
By reusing leftover concrete to make interlocking concrete blocks, we:
Reduce environmental impact
Minimise waste sent to landfill
Lower demand for virgin materials
Support sustainable construction practices
